Let's examine the process of physical product sales. 

Product creation- 
Inventing, prototyping and approving a product. 
without this step there isn't anything to manufacture.

Manufacturing- 
Product creation on a large scale 
you need something to sell,  without this step the product is virtual. 

 shipping- 
Transferring  the product from one to another place. 
The product must be  delivered to the store or if it is sold online then it needs to be delivered directly to the consumer.

Advertising-
Exposing the product to an intended buyer. 
Without this step all the other steps are worthless.

Sale-
In store,  online or in person.
The pinecle and  the part most connected to advertising.

The product would not sell if it was missing any of these steps but advertising is the most important part of the process.
