forcing yourself to become an optimist!

Being an optimist is not something that you are or are not, optimism is a life choice that I choose two years ago when I got sick with MS (don't feel bad for me, it made me a better person).

Optimism is deeply linked to happiness and the reverse is true, being thankful will make you happier.

To achieve happiness you need to stop wanting things period, I mean stop thinking "I need it" and start thinking "it would be nice to have that", one is forceful and one keeps things in perspective.

The next one is being thankful, every evening think of all the things that are good in your life
 " place to stay" "food" "friends" "your family".

Stop wanting what others have.
Make it a goal to earn whatever you want instead.

There is one object that I want, my friend has it and it's awesome! It's a metal phone case that has padding and it's waterproof.  I don't want to steal it I don't want him to give it to me, I want to earn one. I'm happy he has one but I don't need one so I'm going to put it on my goal list.
